When the Dot NET generic extension was first launched in 1985, together with the first domain extensions on the Internet, it was intended to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure companies. Considering the fact that there were no particular rules about the usage of the top-level domain, though, dot NET domains were reserved and used for diverse purposes and by loads of people. This TLD represents a good alternative to .COM, notably if the necessary domain with the latter TLD is not free for registration.
Obtaining a dot NET domain name with our firm is easy and takes only a couple of minutes, since we partner with an ICANN-certified registrar. You can reserve such a domain for a period between 1 and 10 years, or, if you already own a domain, you can transfer it to our firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer process is completed. Transfers are available for all domain names, which are at least sixty days old, given that they are not locked and that you have received an EPP transfer key – security measures introduced by the Registry organization against unauthorized transfers. You can easily update the WHOIS information of the domain through your Control Panel, or, if you wouldn't like this info to be accessible at all, you can add an identity protection service, so no one will be able to get your real contact information.
The dot NET extension supports internationalized names, so you can choose whether you want to focus on a certain country or region using a domain name in the regional language, or the global web community – using a generic English name.
